Jean Baptiste Double French Horn
This is slated to go to the shop, but is being offered here in its current condition at a discounted price. It will need minor maintenance repair work - stringing, lubrication, light cleaning, and the removal of one dented area (see below). (Typical cost would likely be in the 50.00 to 75.00 range or possibly less.)
Quite good overall condition.
There is only very minor wear - the finish is more than 95% intact, and the horn looks very nice. There is some pitting on the bell and bell-edge, and on the underside of some tubes, but this is not very visible - see photos. (Reflected light in the photos may give the appearance of wear on the spatula keys and other spots but this is only a distortion in the photos.)
The physical body is very nice with only one or two tiny dings, however there is one large dent at the bell-throat - see first and last photos. This dent just occurred recently; it is not severe (no kinks or edges) and can likely be removed without leaving much of a trace; also, it is accessible from the bell opening making it an easy repair.
Valves are good and tight. They do need to be strung properly.
All slides are moving well.
No mouthpiece.
No case. (But it will be shipped with adequate protection using wrap and cardboard.) Please write with any questions.
